Is it Spring Yet?

I am always cruising around Etsy to pine over their goodies and now that Spring is on the horizon, I’ve got green on the brain! These were my favorite pieces for this Spring season (so far)!

Non Ikea Coffee Table!

Well… tada! The coffee table is now done! I think this is one of the first non-Ikea pieces of furniture that I have assembled (besides the tables I made, but those I didn’t have follow instructions)!

Bruin was there from the beginning, smelling and licking all the wood and fake marble (which looks awesome), making sure it was safe for the living room… what great security. Overall the project took a screwdriver, a dog bringing you toys while everything is sprawled on the floor, and Andy Cohen Watch What Happens Live in order for the project to be a success. I am so excited for my boyfriend to come home and ask him, ‘What’s different?” and see if he notices : )

Coffee Table Hunting

Yes, I have been hunting since my failed attempt of creating a coffee table, way back in this post.  I have been basing my shopping around this table from West Elm

But unfortunately I do not have an extra $500 in my budget (especially after this winter, oil heat, eek!) so the hunting continued. Until today! I had a gift card to Amazon and started to cruise around their coffee tables and boom – I found this beauty for $95 (free shipping too).

The only bad thing there was no reviews of the product, which can make me a little nervous – so I googled the product name and it popped up on Wayfair, for $132 with some great reviews. I added that bad boy to my cart and now I am just waiting for my boyfriend to come home and say, WTF why did you buy more furniture?

Here is a little rendering preview…
(I’ll post a better picture once it comes home!)

I Need Those Pineapples

Do you ever have those moments? Those moments of seeing something just because they have it you want it… It all started last week – while enjoying one of my favorite blogs, Young House Love… They occasionally post about house crashing, and they crashed the cutest town house across the pond. Here are some snap shots of this gorgeous house (love the blue in the dining room) and then

be still my heart – I saw those brass pineapple wall sconces… and I NEEDED THEM TOO

Yes, needing brass pineapple wall sconces is a bit intense, but I also needed them on a nostalgic level. Living in New England, so many houses have pineapple decor (especially brass pineapple door knockers) and I asked Mama Shea one day way back when, “Why does everyone weirdly have pineapple decorations in their houses?” And she told me that back in the day, sea captains would come back from sailing the Caribbean and put fruit from their travels over their doors or on their fences to let friends, neighbors and family know that the captain had returned safely. Pineapples are a symbol of hospitality, and now you see why, with the nostalgic anecdote and love of 1970’s-hollywood-regency-home-accents – why I needed them! I searched online and found the best deal on Ebay:
